BEACON HILL B

Photos by Martin Watkins

I was looking again at the Beacon Hill pics I sent you... The BBC gives Beacon Hill FM as 85m AGL. The UHF TV on the other mast is given as 96m AGL. Looking at the present arrangements I don't reckon the BBC FM is more than 60m AGL now. The DTT cluster is, I believe, approx. 64m AGL, which I've used for comparison. I think therefore that the BBC must have 'demoted' the FM aerials subsequent to their original installation. The ILR aerials were listed as 60m AGL but I reckon they're nearer 75m or more, including the original ones shown in Mike Smith's photos.
