Comments: Bowmore is a TV relay of Darvel (via Campbeltown and Port Ellen) and an FM relay of Black Hill (via Campbeltown and Port Ellen)

Bowmore was originally built in 1980, broadcasting with vertical polarisation only. Addition of the horizontal
component was proposed in order to extend the service to feed the relay at Portnahaven. It was implemented
using separate power amplifiers and channel combiner for the HP service. At DSO the output of the new
equipment will be split to the VP and HP antennas in the ratio of 80%:20% respectively.

10W tx power TV and 80W tx power (I think) VHF radio. Notice the odd tx aerial, 8 crossed vertical logs for the local transmission to the village of bowmore and area, but below that is a couple of yagis, horizontal, pointing to Portnahaven providing an RBL.
