| Here's a rather dismal picture of the Brook Bottom television relay which is a dependent of Winter Hill via Saddleworth.
This site proved extremely difficult to photograph due to its location in a field on the edge of hillside with no obvious access route. If you look carefully you can spot that the mast consists of a wooden pole, which is vertical despite my photo suggesting otherwise. The UHF aerials bring television to a very steep sided valley on the north west side of the town of Mossley in Greater Manchester.
Slightly over half way up the mast is a single vertically polarised Yagi pointing at Saddleworth which is two or three miles to the north. |
