Burrington is a small village at the bottom of the Chew Valley in Somerset, a few miles to the west of Ubley and about 10 miles to the east of Weston-Super-Mare. The area lies in the shadow of the Mendip Hills and is therefore shielded from the main Mendip transmitter, which lies only 8 miles to the SE. The relay fills the gap between the Ubley and Hutton relays, and unusually employs horizontally polarised log periodics, with six antennas pointing towards the village of Blagdon, and two towards Burrington itself. The vertical receive antenna points at the Ubley relay. |
