Caldbeck is Arqiva's main transmitter
covering Cumbria, the Lake District and parts of the England-Scotland
Borders. CUrrentlyhe BBC transmits English regional variants of BBC1 and BBC2 from Caldbeck and Scottish regional variants from their nearby site at Sandale which can be seen in the background in the last photo on this page. The border region will be the first to be fully switched to digital during 2009 after which, Caldbeck will transmit digital multiplexes for both English and Border/Scottish regions.
