Comments: Chaigley is a relay of Winter Hill

The Chaigley relay provides improved television reception to this rural area of Lancashire. Longridge Fell to the north shadows the area from Winter Hill and makes direct reception difficult.

The transmitter is situated in quite staggeringly dense woodland beside a minor road on the outskirts of Bashall Eaves. If any sort of fault was to occur at the upper part of the mast the engineers would surely need to come prepared with chainsaws and machetes to gain access.
