Comments: Coniston High Man is a relay of Winter Hill for BBC1/BBC2 and Caldbeck (via Kendal) for ITV/C4

Coniston High Man is on the east side of Coniston Water, across from the village, at the top of Grizedale Forest. This mast and another larger one a few hundred metres away are important sites for other radio users in South Lakeland.

There are 2 separate re-broadcast feeds, one from Kendal on a pair of log periodics and one from Winter Hill on the trough aerial.

Coniston HM relays the same BBC and ITV1 regions as Kendal but the BBC have managed to achieve a direct RBR feed of NW region programs from Winter Hill, whereas ITV1's Border region programmes (and presumably Ch4) are sourced from Caldbeck via Laancaster and Kendal.
