Comments: Darley Dale is a relay of Waltham (via Stanton Moor)

Darley Dale was the 1000th analogue TV relay to come into service, and had an opening ceremony which included staff from the BBC, IBA, local dignitaries and the press. The 1000th site was actually due to be some boring inner-city rooftop (Perry Beeches in the West Midlands!) but the launch of Darley Dale was brought forward by a few weeks as the site was thought to be more photogenic!
