Comments: Darwen is a TV and network FM relay of Winter Hill
   

Darwen is less than six miles NE of Winter Hill, but shielded by high moorland.

The first photo of Darwen (below) was taken in July 1982 by Malcolm Pritchard. The tower was not completely devoid of mobile radio antennas back then – there was a UHF array on the right leg. "I bet there's a bit more hung on it now" ...
