Edale is a small and rather isolated village in the rural Derbyshire Peak District National Park. This mast replaced the old relay, a 10m high wooden pole which stood on the same spot.

All cabling to and from the mast is burried underground, and runs to a small stone equipment cabin quite some distance away. There is a rather standard looking, old 'household' yagi, which is on a very short pole close to the ground and tied down with guy wires pointing towards Emley, so can we assume it was the RX aerial for the old mast? (or perhaps a remanant of an original self-help installation?)
The new mast is a 13.4m Monopole, a metal structure covered in wood-effect cladding to recreate the existing wooden pole appearance. Four crossed log periodics are used for TX, and two large white-painted yagis half way up the mast point to Emley Moor for RX
Due to the very out-of-the-way location of the site (there is no access track) the new mast had to be airlifted into position.
