Comments: Fernhill is a relay of Wenvoe (via Aberdare)

Fernhill is a small settlement in south Wales, located directly between Aberdare and Mountain Ash. As can be seen from the last set of photos, the site can only just "see" the Aberdare relay, which means that anyone lower down the valley is shielded by the hill that Mountain Ash Golf Club sits on.

Transmission is from a pair of vertical log periodics, pointing nominally north and east across the valley. Reception is a single vertical log on Aberdare.

Looking south from the site through the woods to Fernhill itself

Looking north from the site towards Aberdare town.
The Aberdare relay is visible poking above the treeline on the right, just where the hillsides appear to intersect.
