Fremont Point on the island of Jersey, is the transmitter which serves the whole of the Channel Islands with UHF analogue television.

Despite the impressive 135m tower its location on the north of the island means its signal can reach the other islands but topography means its coverage of Jersey is by no means total.

For the introduction of colour transmissions to the Channel Islands, work begins on the operation of raising the new UHF aerials to the top of the Fremont Point mast.

As yet there is no digital terrestrial television on the islands as international clearance for the additional channels required is proving very difficult, though Channel TV is now available on Astra digital.
