Addition of DAB and new UHF Tx aerial - November 2018

Since the earlier pictures were taken, band III DAB aerials have been added and the UHF transmit aerial has been replaced for 700 MHz band clearance.

UHF transmit aerial replacement: June 2018. DAB service dates: BBC 15/9/2010; Glasgow 16/6/2016.






At the top the 8 tier open cardioid UHF transmit aerial has been replaced with a cylinder. It is probably an RFS 8UD model. Link to data sheet at the foot of this page.


From the top down:

39m BBC FM radio transmit. Two tiers of circularly polarised panels. From this direction we see the two panels which face southeast. Another pair face northeast.

36m ILR 100.0 MHz transmit. A slant polarised band II phased array on the right.

Upper UHF trough. UHF TV RBL receive on Darvel

27m twin band II log periodics. BBC RBL receive from Black Hill



The ILR 100.0 MHz transmit aerial. A phased array of two band II folded dipoles, slant polarised.


The BBC FM radio RBL twin band II log perioidics with one bent element.


Lower down are the DAB aerials on the right. Two tiers of band III dipoles in front of a screen at 20m. Also shown is the lower UHF RBL trough. To the right of the SHF antenna is the 97.0 MHz ILR transmit aerial at 25m. Another slant polarised array.
