The original Holme Moss mast

The original Holme Moss mast, taken when the installation was shiny and new in 1951.

The Band I aerials are at the top and the band II slot aerials beneath.

In 1951 the Band II setup was very "experimental" - at the time the FM system had not yet been officially adopted on VHF.
