ILFRACOMBE

September 2016: Local DAB and other new bits

Mervyn considered: "Can I really afford the time to do this? I was in Ilfracombe anyway, and the rain stopped and the sun shone and the walk and the view from the top was worth the effort."

The new DAB aerials, mounted on the South West corner of the tower and angled according to Ofcom tx params on a bearing of 150 degrees.

A pair of vertically stacked five element yagis.

The transmitter cabin presumably based on being new and shiny and the gps cones

There is no satellite dish here so presumably the incoming is via one of the shf dishes, some of which point towards Huntshaw Cross which might be a likely source of programme.

I think this is the RBL aerial for the source of Heart from Huntshaw Cross. It appears in one of Martin's previous photos minus some bits, looks like this could be a new one.

The cross polarised transmitter aerial for Heart is minus a bit of reflector.

This doesn't appear previously, its the telemetry uplink for DTT we assume.

This site is now included in the Update List for the following reason:
Probable replacement of UHF tx aerial in preparation for B700 May 2019
