THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

|Symington is more interesting than first seems. Until I took the photos I didn't know of the aerial array detailed on the previous page. It looks very well engineered, like something you’d find at Droitwich. The IBA must have gone to some trouble to do this.|
[Ed.] These "Folded Umbrella" type of MF aerials were quite popular with the IBA for their second phase of ILR stations, having the advantage of being able to use a much shorter mast. They were also used at Breinton, Brundall, Cotheridge, Hadfield Road, Nigg, Rayleigh and Tarbat Ness.
|The building looks a little large for one transmitter?|
Since the previous photos it seems the car has gone.
|This maybe used to receive a feed from DAB?|
Breinton | Brundall | Cotheridge | Hadfield Road | Nigg | Rayleigh (Southend MF) | Tarbat Ness
