The site is located along side the A356 and is quite large - the perimeter is approx 3 miles. This site was acquired by the BBC in November 1939 and is similar to those at Orfordness, Skelton and Woofferton. It broadcast short wave transmissions mainly to Eastern Europe, Africa and the USA. It closed in 2011. Michael Curtis says: "I tried to count all the masts, but kept losing count! - there are at least 25." [Ed. 27 actually]
