Information released by Ofcom gives the NGR as SU645020, however SU646019 appears to be more realistic This was self-help 448, a transposer operating on channels 51/44/41/47 at 2W erp to serve 50 households The problem here is not the nearby docks but the 11-storey Baltic House, once home to the DVLA local office and now known as the "Connect Centre" The building is adjacent to an area of terraced housing and would tend to disrupt reception of Rowridge. Some domestic aerials were seen to be pointed in the opposite direction - I understand Midhurst may have been a feasible alternative The self-help closed at DSO - this may be because reflections rather than blocking were the real problem and this is much less of an issue for DTT |
The Connect Centre is adjacent to the Rudmore Roundabout and the M275 |
Seen from the streets nearby, the problem and solution in context - Rowridge is "behind" the building The self-help appears to have been on the brick-clad "tower" on the left |
On the right a panel, on the left a yagi |
The size and style of the panel is similar to that at the Witham self-help, however I'd expect HP transmission to have been provided here and Witham is VP |
This is the only obvious receive antenna and may not be that used for the self-help. It is starting to lose elements but there should be plenty of signal available from Rowridge |
