THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

CLEE HILL

Photos by Jack Richardson Page last updated: 2022-03-18

March 2022

A walk up to the summit of Titterstone Clee Hill. It's quite easy to reach as there's a road right up to the towers, with plenty of parking, though be warned the potholes are huge in the main car park!

If there was a single spot where you could see pretty much the whole of the West Midlands as well as over to Wales, then this would be it. What a great location, no wonder it's been chosen as a broadcast site, makes you think the range of an FM Tx from up there.

The DAB tower

The DAB antennas point westwards towards Kidderminster.

I assume the two objects on the pole on the right are aircraft warning lights?

This must be where the transmitters are located...

Back of the site. The road behind the photo leads off to the Radar installations.

Entrance to the site. A footpath leads off to the right, where the arrow is pointing, to the summit.

I believe the 'golf ball' on the left is for air traffic (NATS) and the smaller one on the right for the Met Office.
