I had a near disaster here! Access was through a field where I unwittingly trod on an area of what appeared to be firm mud. In fact it was a crust on top of 15 inches deep cow slurry into which I promptly sank over the top of my motorcycle boots (this site was a bit too far for an afternoon cycle ride). Trying to extricate myself from the cloying mess, I almost pitched over face down, which would have well fertilised my camera. Still I took some photos and returned to my motorbike, giving the foul area a wide berth and rode smartly home with two bootfulls of rapidly drying cow cack! Despite my cleanup efforts, my wife still immediately noticed the unmistakable pong of cattle ordure emanating from my boots drying in the garage when she arrived home from work!
