THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

ST. JUST

Photos by Derek Tunbridge Page last updated: 2021-10-13

June 2006

St Just - the most Westerly of the mainland relay stations - quite easy to access, being just off of a B road not far from Geevor tin mine. The site is well used, and one hut displays the remnants of a Dolphin sign. The receive aerials, two bayed horizontal logs, aimed at Redruth, are just visible quite high up the tower through the metalwork. Unfortunately the sun made it difficult to get a better shot.

Originally a BBC landlord site, TV channels 1 - 3 entered service on 20th August 1976, with Channel 4 from August 1984. DSO was on 8th July and 5th August 2009.
