CHIDEOCK

Photos by Michael Curtis Page last updated: 2014-04-15

Autumn 2001

This tv relay is located in a very attractive West Dorset setting. It broadcasts BBC South West / Westcountry regional programmes for the villages of Chideock and Morecombelake that are shielded by hills from the main transmitter at Stockland Hill.

Chideoch entered service in the mid 1990's. DSO was on 6th and 20th May 2009.

View from the east side, the VP log (on the right hand side of the mast) provides the signal for Chideock village, and the HP log on the other side, provides a signal for Morecombelake that lies to the west of the site

View from the south side, the two upper logs, provide the off air feed from Stockland Hill

Nothing broadcast related, as it turned out, fast forward 13 years to some 2014 shots on the next page
