Show historic services

Both Derek and Hedley found this a difficult site to get close to. It is located on private land and, when Derek visited, the field contained sheep with new-born lambs.

Two log periodic aerials are used for transmit. One vertical and one horizonal. They point at the villages of South Brent and the much smaller and closer Aish. Four bayed HP logs are aimed towards Beacon Hill.

Originally an IBA landlord site, South Brent entered service on 17-Apr-1987 transmitting only the vertically polarised signal. The horizontal component seems to have been added much later, possibly as a consequence of interim DTT.
