It proved impossible to access as this is a British Gas site, which is on a bend in the River Mersey. To the North is the M60's "Bredbury Scissors" junction. Portwood entered service in the mid 1990's.

The RX log is about one third the way up the tower, TX log about two thirds the way up. Service area is to the left (West) of the site.
