Tour de France/Yorkshire Festival Light Show

How could I resist? One of the UK's iconic towers/transmitters to be lit up as part of local celebrations. It's only a 400-mile round trip for me after all...

Getting there wasn't a problem, but finding a suitable vantage point was a little more difficult as the turnout was surprisingly large!

I first tried Castle Hill as darkness started to fall. It was a little too far away for the zoom on my camera but at least you can get an impression of the start of the "show" from a distance.

Relocating a little closer (the car park of the Three Acres Inn on Drinker lane, appropriately enough) afforded me a much better view, as the remaining images show.

The exposure time for this one was around 20 seconds... ended up looking more dramatic than it did in reality, but that's just my opinion and I wouldn't want to argue that particular point with the hundreds of enthusiastic Yorkshire folk who lined the nearby roads!
