GLENGORM

Photos by TCPD and Philip Bragg Page last updated: 2016-05-03

Pictures taken in 1984, 1993 and 2006.

TCPD found some photos of Glengorm, mostly taken in 1984 when the horizontal log periodics were replaced by a Marconi mixed polarization panel antenna.

Originally a BBC landlord site, Glengorm entered service with TV channels 1 - 3 in July 1980. Channel 4 was added in December 1986. DSO was on 13th and 27th October 2010.

BBC FM radio entered service during 1980. Converted to mixed polarisation in November 1984. Radios 1 & 4 were added on 3rd December 1993.

Rx antenna on right side of tower. Lower log periodic for VHF Band II and above a BBC log periodic for UHF reception of Torosay.

This one is dated 1993 when there are a few additional antennas evident on the structure.

And so to Glengorm today or, to be more exact 7-Jul-2006...
