February 2010 - DSO work

Lee writes: A return visit to Pennorh in Feb 2010 showed pre-DSO work on Pennorth to be almost complete. (DSO occurred on 3-Mar-2010.)

Back in Oct-2009 the old equipment cabinet was replaced with a smaller unit containing the new transmission equipment. According to the planning permission submitted by Arqiva the existing transmission antenna will not be changed however a set of log periodic aerials would replace the existing trough antennas and a small satellite dish will be installed for remote telemetry monitoring of the site.

Here we see the 4 new logs pointing at Brecon. This is a different setup from the existing troughs which point at Clyro for some reason. Clyro is a relay of Brecon. The satellite dish and GPS receivers were not yet in evidence...
