THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

HANGLETON

Photos by Dick Coppard and Dan Glover Page last updated: 2017-09-05

This transmitter is situated to the North West of Hove and serves the community of Hangleton, (about 5000). It originally opened in September 1982 with Channel 4 added in November 1982.

The original structure was a 17m wooden pole (as at nearby Portslade), but was replaced with this steel monopole in July 2000 in order to accommodate mobile phone services.

Dan Glover visited the site in July 2010 to find yet more mobile phone antennas had been added - see bottom of page.

Two HP logs receive Rowridge, with a single VP log for transmit.
