Horizontal polarisation added - March 2022

Following the fire at Bilsdale in August 2021 a horizontally polarised beam was added at Sunderland on
14-Jan-2022 transmitting on the same channels as the existing vertical transmissions. The Freeview website gives an ERP of 4W for this HP beam. It also seems that the wooden pole has been replaced recently.

There is a hill to the south of this Pontop Pike UHF relay, which is where all of these pictures were taken. One advantage of this viewpoint was to place the bright sunshine behind the camera.

The transmit pole on the left and the nearby urban area.

A single horizontal log periodic has been added at the top of the pole.
