October 2011 - general views

Nigel writes:- Anne and I called in at Sandale site on the way home from spending a couple of days in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The quickest way to get to the site is driving through Carlisle and then taking the A595 road to Keswick then taking the B5299. When we came through Boltongate a sign said that the road ahead was closed due to resurfacing, follow diversion. If we had followed the diversion we would have missed the site.

On this page are published more general views of Sandale. Detailed pictures of the aerials can be found on the next page of the gallery.

Bottom of the mast.

A long feeder cable run.

Those cables just go on and on.

Finally you can see where the feeder cables exit the building and the exhaust pipe of the generator in the foreground.

The generator.

View looking north.

View to the west.

Another view north.

Another view to the west

Yet another view to the north.

The Caldbeck masts can be seen in the background.

The BBC Eagles looking a bit weathered.

We haven't a clue what this is?

The anchor near the service road.

The Caldbeck masts as seen from the field in front of Sandale site.

An archive sign that "archiva" forgot to remove....
