New DAB aerials

The new DAB aerials can be clearly seen on the top of the mast. They are pointing in the same direction as the TV transmitting aerials in a west to southwest direction serving the Tenniscourt Road area of Kingswood. The DAB signal extends further out and is one of four new DAB transmitters to improve reception of the local Bristol and Bath multiplex, especially for BBC Radio Bristol and Smooth Radio which are losing their AM outlet in Spring 2016 when the Mangotsfield AM site closes. Siston also transmits the BBC national DAB multiplex. DAB service date: 4th December 2015.

Simon took the first two pictures in January 2016.
