BOLEHILL

Photos by Neil Hopperton and Trevor Edwards Page last updated: 2014-07-19

Updated April 2006

Originally a BBC landlord site, UHF TV commenced with 3 channels on 22nd August 1975 as a relay of Sutton Coldfield. Site number 102.13. The RBL source was changed to Waltham on 29th June 1984 to give East Midlands regional programming. Channel 4 was added in July 1984. DSO was on 17th and 31st August 2011.

The Sutton Coldfield receive trough is still in place, just below the large SHF antenna on the right.

Twin receive log periodics on Waltham mounted low on the tower to give a large as possibly spacial separtion from the Tx aerials, due to the fact that Bolehill transmits adjacent channel to Waltham.
