The Hythe relay is on the roof of the magnificent Hotel Imperial. The first shot shows the hotel in all its grandeur with Wright’s Mobile Hotel, in all its rust, parked cheekily in front of it. The Tx log periodics are pointing towards the town centre about a kilometre to the west and towards the Hospital Hill area to the east, on the edge of Folkestone. Hythe (Kent) entered service on 24-Aug-1979 to serve about 3500 people. Channel 4 was added on 10-May-1985.
