FAVERSHAM
| Photos by Dave Coppen and David Neale | Page last updated: 2023-04-06 |
Faversham was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service on 6-Jul-1979 to serve a population of about 3000 people. Channel 4 was added on 19-Jul-1985.

Although this is a relay of Dover, Ofcom data shows Bluebell Hill as being the source for BBC1/2. The log just to the right of the GSM panel faces Bluebell Hill.

Meanwhile, this log is directed towards Dover

David Neale commented: "This now absolutely packed-out relay of Dover has had an extension installed for an O2-Airwave installation. I remember this site from a small triangle tower then its swap to the square tower today and every operator and steelwork added. Will they add more...?" We believe David's photos were taken sometime during 2003. The satellite dish at low level in the photo above forms part of the planning application for DAB, although transmit antennas had not been installed at this stage - see separate page for further details.
