THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

WEST RUNTON

Photos by Sean Cooper Page last updated: 2011-11-18

December 2008 - also available on FM

To celebrate BBC Radio Norfolk's 25th Birthday in 2005 (and to bring a clearer FM signal to North Norfolk), an FM transmitter was installed at West Runton. It operates on 95.6 MHz FM (stereo).

The yagi aerial at the top of the mast is for 95.6 broadcasts, while the yagi about half way up the mast (next to the TV off air receive panel) is pointing to Stoke Holy Cross and is the FM off air receieve aerial

We believe the pairs of phased dipoles on the right in this view (36m) are for the Norwich DAB service.

The 4 element Yagi and folded dipole, to the left are the Radio Norfolk Tx aerial.
