Comments: Waunfawr is a relay of Llanddona (via Arfon). Power increase at B700.

Waunfawr is on the western edge of the Snowdonia mountain range in North Wales, near Caenarfon, and covers an area to the south east of the site within a valley that is shielded by hills from the nearby Arfon transmitter, the top of which is visible from the transmitter site, and provides the contribution feed.

This former IBA landlord site entered service in March 1980. S4C was available from the November 1982 launch. The original structure was a 17m wooden pole which has been replaced with this steel monopole to permit the addition of mobile phone antennas at the top.
