The obvious changes to Ystalyfera since the earlier pictures from David Baker is that the tower has shed some of its non broadcast aerials and it has new UHF receive aerials.

This picture was taken from nearby Varteg Hill.

The tower now looks quite empty, with just one set of mobile phone type panels.

The UHF cylinder looks to be the original from 1977. It contains a northeast facing cardioid.

Gone are the pair of vertically stacked receive Yagis. Replaced by horizontally spaced Yagis and logs, but still receiving from Carmel.
