Comments: Llangadfan was originally a relay of Blaenplwyf (via Llangurig Link and Long Mountain). It still relays Long Mountain, but that site is now line fed.

This site has grown considerably over the years as seems normal. As well as the original TV transmission cabin, there is now a presence by Vodaphone, Orange and O2. (Don't remember seeing any mention of Tmobile). The most recent addition is an Airwave (emergency services) communications cabin and antennae, together with LPG gas cylinders providing fuel to a backup generator.

Llangadfan was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service on the 11th August 1983.

I assume the satellite dish provides telemetry- it appeared at the same time as digital switchover. There is also a curiously mounted microwave link at lower than waist height- such that it must be blocked by passing sheep. Obviously not a critical connection.
