Photos by Martin Briscoe Page last updated: 2021-09-24

Moel-y-Parc early 1970's

Originally an ITA landlord site, 405-line, VHF channel 11, ITV entered service on 28th January 1963. 405-line, VHF channel 6, BBC 1 was added on 28th October 1965. Both 405-line services closed in January 1985.

The passive reflector for SHF link can be seem on the side of the mast.

I think the Band III antenna can be seen at the top, presumably ITA's antenna.

ITA Moel y Parc sign in car park.
I think this is looking towards Liverpool. The time was read off the clock on one of the cathedrals one day!

Cutting from Practical Television, July 1966.
