THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

CRAIGKELLY

Photos by Dan Glover Page last updated: 2011-05-18

October 2010 - DSO work completed

From the top: main DTT array, FM with embedded DAB, DTT reserve. Below and to the left, the slant polarised dipoles are believed to be for Capital and Real Radio, although the Ofcom data is a bit ambiguous in relation to FM services

Slightly further down there are two Siras. As with the dipoles above, these are likely to be used for local services covering the Edinburgh area. On the left a slant polarised yagi, and most of a vertically polarised one, both aimed roughly north.

This array of phased dipoles is likely to be for local DAB. Ofcom has this at 78m, with maximum ERP on bearing 080

There also seem to be a couple of DAB dipoles between the Siras.

Local DAB and FM antennas seen from below. Most of the broadcast-related antennas are mounted on this (south west) corner of the structure.

Nearer the bottom, these yagis and troughs face Black Hill

Lower still, a satellite feed. New main feeders visible on the right.
