This site is tucked away along a little lane, a fair distance from the main road. It looks
as if it may not have been tended to in a while and signs which have fallen down and not been re-erected.
Talking of signs, Gloucester MF must hold the record for the site with the most signs - I counted at least ten! Churchdown Hill is just visible in the distance in the penultimate photo. |
| Despite being a NGW site the only service currently transmitted from this site is Virgin Radio. BBC Radio Gloucestershire's MF services are broadcast from sites at Berkeley Heath and Bourton-on-the-Water. | |
According to BBC
Glos's engineer, Gloucester MF was a troublesome transmitter
which kept shutting
down when birds landed onthe antenna. Perhaps that's why
NGW have
perched a plasticowl on the transmitter hall to scare them off!
