Comments: Relay of Llanddona

This is by far the most easterly relay of Llanddona - in fact it's more or less at the east end of the north coast, just before the bend into the Dee estuary starts, and as such it is further east than many Moel-y-Parc relays. Presumably the RBL signal from Moel y Parc was not suitable, though as the crow flies it is not very far away.

Gronant does not share one characteristic with most of the other north-coast Llanddona relays - there is no provision to take its ch60 RBL feed from Moel y Parc instead of Llanddona, to overcome the co-channel Winter Hill DTV problem. This is odd since Gronant is much nearer Winter Hill than any of the other relays - one might expect co-channel to be worse here. But perhaps the problem is containable, or perhaps the Moel y Parc signal just isn't good enough to use as a feed.

Like many of the north coast relays, not many viewers actually take advantage of its presence - most local domestic aerials are pointing at Winter Hill.
