Comments:

Hameldon Hill was (and still is) home to BBC Radio Lancashire on 96.4 MHz when I took this photo on September 20, 1983 (though the frequency has since changed to 95.5MHz). The slant polarized signals came from an array of horizontal dipoles plus a single vertical antenna at the very top. Radio Lancashire began life as BBC Radio Blackburn, and 2 meter amateur radio repeater GB3RF used the same tower. Hameldon Hill is also home to a Met Office weather radar in its own radome.
