Cool as a cucumber, working at nearly 500 feet
above the ground, is Mr. Ian Campbell of Lawrence Close, Popley,
near Basingstoke. He is one of a team of construction workers who
have built a huge new aerial mast at Hannington, near Kingsclere.
At the end of this month the mast will be transmitting BBC2
programmes - and eventually BBC1 and ITA - on ultra-high
frequency. Gazette photographer John Hocknell went to the top of
the mast to get this photograph.
