There are no less than three transmitting sites on what the locals know as the Grain Peninsular at Hoo on the Medway estuary. This is the NGW AM site. It was orginally built to transmit BBC Radio Medway/Kent on 1035 kHz, until BBC had to give up that frequency. The original AM transmitter was at the Jezreels tower site in Gillingham. There is also an Arqiva AM site and an FM site. |
