Hutton overlooks the lively seaside town of Weston-Super-Mare and lies at the western end of the Chew Valley. The Mendip Hills screen large parts of the valley from the main Mendip transmitter, as can be seen by the large gap to the east of Weston on the UHF coverage map on the Mendip page. Reception in this area is provided by the Ubley, Burrington and Hutton relays. Hutton has two UHF panels pointing west which provide reception for
the
village of Hutton itelf and the southern end of Weston. On the reverse
side, four UHF panels send a signal east, covering Banwell, Sandford, Hutton is also a BBC national FM filler, relaying Wenvoe to the Weston area. The single transmit log periodic antenna appears to service areas in the shadow of Worlebury Hill, which is to the north of the town. Hutton also carries DAB services to Weston for the NOW Bristol & Bath multiplex. |
