This FM TX is on the top of a residential block of flats in the Northern end of Newmarket. It serves as a local filler TX covering Newmarket for ILR Heart FM. It's very busy up there - is that a DBS band dish? - and getting a clear pic of the aerials is not easy! TX looks to be via two 3 element band II yagi aerials - both vertically polarised. I did spot what appears to be another Band II vertical dipole on one of the other blocks - not sure what it's used for as it's clearly not part of the communual TV/radio distribution system - maybe a pirate station or someone has decided to put up a decent FM receive aerial? |
