Comments: Llansawel is a relay of Carmel (via Talley)

The village of Llansawel lies to the north of the A40 between Llandovery and Carmarthen. This road follows the relatively flat (for Wales at least) Towy valley. Reception from Carmel along this route is fairly straightforward, the transmitter being visible for much of the way. Stray off the beaten track however…

The first picture is taken looking roughly northwards coming down the hill towards the village. The remaining photos were taken from the narrow lane running up the hill behind the transmitter.

The TX aerials are log periodics but the RX aerial is a rather shiny vertically polarised yagi probably pointing towards the Talley relay about 2½ miles to the south-east.
