Comments: Llyswen is a relay of Wenvoe (via Ebbw Vale, Abergavenny and Brecon UHF)

Llyswen provides an improved UHF signal to an area of the Wye valley around Llyswen village, Bronllys and Talgarth. Prior to its commissioning locals relied on Clyro, Brecon or even Ridge Hill.

In Llyswen village, only Ridge Hill provided a useable (though weak) signal. This caused some interesting moments for aerial riggers working at the homes of more fanatical Welsh speakers seeking S4C! More local transmitters that provided the correct Welsh programme feed suffered from severe multipath interference. Conversely, the allocation of group A frequencies for Llyswen ruined weak (though perfectly useable) Ridge Hill reception for many in Bronllys and Talgarth who had hitherto enjoyed Ch4 and S4C reception from diplexed Ridge Hill (Midlands) and Clyro (Welsh) installations.
