Comments: Lorton is a relay of Caldbeck

Lorton's horizontal receiving aerial can be seen pointing at Caldbeck which you can see in the distance from the site.

It has four vertical transmitting aerials at the top of the mast facing into Lorton which is shielded from caldbeck by the ground on which the tower stands, and a further four facing towards Caldbeck to fill in the Derwent Valley which is also shielded from caldbeck by high ground .
